Collaboration Aims to Increase Awareness of Alzheimer’s

PatientPoint and the Alzheimer’s Association launch nationwide collaboration

CINCINNATI — PatientPoint®, the trusted leader of patient and physician engagement solutions across all points of care, today announced a collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Association, the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

More than five million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s in the U.S., while more than 15 million others serve as caregivers for someone with the disease.

“As Americans continue to live longer, it’s only a matter of time before Alzheimer’s affects many of us—as someone living with this devastating disease or acting as a caregiver,” said Kate Merz, senior vice president of content and creative for PatientPoint. “This collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Association will help deliver important information to the right people at the point of care to encourage early detection and help families plan for the future.”

PatientPoint will utilize its expansive network of healthcare providers to share Alzheimer’s Association educational content focused on recognizing the signs and symptoms of the disease. Content will appear through the digital solutions PatientPoint offers in waiting and exam rooms. This education is critically important since common signs of Alzheimer’s or dementia are frequently mistaken as part of the normal aging process. Content will highlight Alzheimer’s facts and figures, warning signs, tips for caregivers and more.

“One of the benefits of reaching people at the point of care is driving early detection and connecting people to free, vital programs and services available from the Alzheimer’s Association,” said Beth Kallmeyer, Alzheimer’s Association vice president, care and support. “As many as half of those living with Alzheimer’s have not been diagnosed. This collaboration will help provide individuals with easy access to information about early warning signs and resources to help them plan for the future to get the maximum benefit from treatment and care options.”

Leveraging this unique partner content, PatientPoint supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s mission to eradicate the disease, provide and enhance care and support for all affected and reduce the risk of dementia.

This announcement follows a series of new PatientPoint partnerships and collaborations developed this year, including work with the American Heart AssociationMovember Foundation and the Community Oncology Alliance.
