Meet Our Team: Phil Ritchey

Phil Ritchey is a healthcare strategy aficionado. As senior vice president of health system innovation and strategy, he’s passionate about helping health systems augment their patient education and engagement strategies with proven PatientPoint point-of-care solutions.

“As healthcare moves to a value-based model, health systems must work harder to prove their worth to patients and payers,” Phil says. “An important way to do that is to offer relevant, personalized digital content at the point of care that drives satisfaction and improves clinical outcomes.”

Phil understands health systems and how to harness content to reach the right audience at the right time to educate, inform, recruit and retain patients. Prior to joining PatientPoint, Phil served as Senior Director of Digital Innovation for the healthcare digital publishing platform Everyday Health.

At PatientPoint, Phil leads a team committed to digitizing the patient experience for thousands of providers, hospitals and health systems across the country through solutions like the Waiting Room Digital Screens Program and Interactive Exam Room Program.

“While health systems have long focused on acquiring patients through digital tactics like search engine optimization, there hasn’t been as much emphasis on engaging patients once they arrive for care,” Phil says. “With award-winning education and custom health system messaging, PatientPoint solutions in the waiting room, exam room and beyond enrich the patient experience where and when it matters most.”

Phil came to PatientPoint more than a decade after meeting PatientPoint founder and CEO Mike Collette through Cincinnati’s local music scene (of which Phil and Mike were then both part). They then discovered they had mutual business relationships and a similar passion to improve healthcare. Phil is excited about what’s in store for PatientPoint under Mike’s leadership.

“PatientPoint is going to continue to transform how we translate education in the digital environment to make a more effective, personalized and relevant impact,” Phil says. “We’re evolving point of care beyond the brick and mortar by marrying content, engagement and digital strategy to look at how patients and providers interact throughout all points of care.”

When he’s not thinking about healthcare strategy, you’ll likely find Phil spending time with his wife and three daughters, on the golf course or playing guitar.
