Physician office programs educate men about prostate cancer
CINCINNATI — Movember Foundation, the only global charity solely focused on men’s health, will expand their audience of Mo Bros and Mo Sistas through PatientPoint®.
PatientPoint, the trusted leader in patient education and engagement at the point of care, will now feature men’s health messaging about the Foundation’s funded programs in PatientPoint urology and oncology programs throughout the United States.
“The moustache is known for sparking conversation and garnering intrigue, but the men’s health projects funded by the Movember Foundation are integral in encouraging men to take better control of their health,” said Kate Merz, senior vice president of content and creative for PatientPoint. “By providing education materials on Movember funded programs in waiting and exam rooms, we inspire healthy action and deeper conversations between men and their physicians about prostate cancer and other men’s health issues.”
Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men in the United States, affecting one out of every seven men. The Movember Foundation is committed to reducing the number of men dying from prostate and testicular cancer by 50 percent by 2030. Not only that, the TrueNTH program is a Movember Foundation initiative focused on providing tools and resources that improve the quality of life of men with prostate cancer, their partners and caregivers.
“Too many men don’t talk about their health, don’t take action, and as a result, they die too young from diseases that are often treatable,” said Paul Villanti, executive director for the Movember Foundation. “PatientPoint provides us an avenue to deliver targeted messages at the key moment in time when men are having important conversations with their physicians about their health.”
For almost 30 years, PatientPoint has been the trusted leader of patient and physician engagement solutions at the point of care. PatientPoint award-winning health information drives positive outcomes for patients, providers and sponsors. From primary care to specialty practices, urgent care clinics to hospitals and mobile, PatientPoint programs reach more than 290,000 healthcare providers across 31,000 physician offices and 1,000 hospitals nationwide, impacting half a billion patient and caregiver visits each year. About the Movember Foundation
The Movember Foundation is the only charity tackling men’s health on a global scale, year round. We run awareness and fundraising activities, with the annual Movember campaign in November being globally recognized for its fun, disruptive approach to getting men to take action for their health. During Movember, men and women around the world raise funds by growing or supporting a moustache, getting physically active, or by hosting an event. Not only do these commitments raise vital funds, they also generate powerful and often life-changing conversations. Millions have joined the movement, raising $710M to help us fund more than 1,200 men’s health projects focusing on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention
We have one goal: to stop men dying too young.
